Founding Brothers: The Revolutionary Generation

Has anyone already read this?
Would anyone happen to know the themes and questions the author raises in this book? (The Founding Brothers: The Revolutionary Generation by Joseph Ellis). I'm supposed to also know why the author wrote the book (this is not apparent anywhere in the book) and what he believes about America.
Any help is greatly appreciated because I need to make a thesis statement about whether the author makes his case...
