Well said! But as you mentioned, sometimes wicked people don't get the punishment we think they deserve - at least not right away...

Yes he did not face enough justice, perhaps in a sequel he can face a harsher punishment or even better, karma.

I think that Dermot really should be punished for his crimes. I hope this happens in the next book.

Yes .he was behind the killing of two US citizens and to me he was getting whay he derseved .

Yes, more should have been resolved with his character. I did not think enough was explained about him.

Dermot's fate lies in the next book of the series. I think due to his cruel act of killing two people is enough to make him face a consequence equal to his actions. He deserves to face a jury in either of the this countries America or Ireland .

I had hoped Dermot would get a fitting punishment for his crimes. I expected to see the book take such a turn towards the end. But in reality people get away with murder every day.

There are a number a reason that heating have been punished for his crimes. It could have been intentional where the author is going to use him as the villain in a follow-up to this story. This allows the author a place to start with a character that you are already familiar with and know the background of and allows for less explanation from the author. It's easier for a reader to have someone they already hated than learn to hate anew villain.

I agree the conclusion with Dermot felt unresolved. I hope this gets brought up again in the next book. In general, I felt several of the actions that lead to the ending were a bit too convenient to be considered plausible. For one, Ed leaving Hillary alone in Bridget's house when he knows there is a murder around seemed downright idiotic to me. Second, playing hide and seek with a 7 year old in a dark, back alleyway sets off all kinds of warning bells.

Does anyone else feel the events leading up to the ending were a bit too convenient?

I agree - his fate was a little anti-climactic. I found myself wishing for a harsher punishment.

Dermot indeed deserved a justifiable punishment for all he did, maybe the author didn't want to emphasize on his part.

Dermot definitely needed a harsher degree of punishment and the author should have elaborated about it in this book itself to give readers a sense of satisfaction at the end of the book. Somehow now without the consequences faced by Dermot the end seems unfinished, incomplete.
