The writing style was a bit unique for me because the first few pages were a bit confusing..but the erapping up of the story made it familiar for me.

I actually struggled to understand the first chapter of this book, later the following chapters became easy and enjoyable while i read through.

I felt the same way. Maybe reading the previous books before this one would have helped

At the beginning of the book, I was NOT a fan. It was very difficult for me to find the desire to read more. I almost put the book down, but I am glad that I did not. Although I struggled through the beginning, I enjoyed the book as the story progressed.

I have the bad habit of picking books that catch my attention, even when they are part of series, and often times I find myself reading them in a random order. I thought that was the reason why it was slightly hard-to-read for me. It didn't take long before I got used to it though.

It takes a while to get used to the writing style. But I think that plays a part in the suspense element of a book. I didn't have any problem with the way the author went about his business.

I didn't notice any difficulty understanding the beginning of the book. I thought the author was introducing the characters and story plot just like any other book.

Oof, I personally find it hard to read winding description nowadays, but despite all of that... the title and premise is quite interesting 😂 Hmm, I wonder if I should check out a sample of this

The beginning was a little confusing for me I had to reread some portions to get a better understanding. The transitions were not seamless.

For me, the book was a bit dry in the beginning. His writing style is so different

I did not have a problem with the book. It was one of the first books I reviewed, so I was learning and eager to read the novel.

I'm sorry but I found it a little difficult to get involved in the story to begin with. I almost stopped reading altogether.

I understand why most find Gillams style of writing rather hard to work with in the beginning of the book " House of Fire" but those who are very familiar with classic literature would understand her approach to starting off the book the way she did because it captures attention very quickly and confuses but still intrigues readers to want to understand better :wink2:

While it does takes some getting used two, I feel like that only makes the second reading even better.

I agree 100% . Having to read a book like this makes reading the 2nd book 10 times better
