First few pages of the books are real struggle. I felt them really intricate. Hope it gets easier on moving further.

That is the case with quite a few books I've read. You just need to have patience and adjust yourself to the pace and rhythm of the writing as every writer has a unique style. It is also a part of a series so that can be a problem.

This is my first book by Gillam, and the writing style is entirely different from other mystery books. Gillam took the time to introduce the characters and their backgrounds. The first few chapters are intricately written that has a lot of information which you have to keep a tab on, but once the foundation was laid, it picked up its pace and was perfectly tuned to the storyline.

Probably because i didn't read the previous series, it was difficult for me to understand the beginning and also the fact that the writer's style of writing is new to me.

The writing style at the beginning was a bit tedious and hard to follow but it got better as the book progressed. I think I am more used to being drawn into the book from the very first page.

the beginning of the book wasn't really captivating for me. understanding the book at the beginning was a challenge to me as the writer's writing style was new to me.

From people's view I think the book started on a slow note.

Though, the book is not necessarily an easy read but there's so much richness and depth to it. A little change never hurts!

It definitely took me a while to adjust to the writing style. I felt like I was missing something and was somewhat confused in the beginning

This style of writing and the method applied by the author captured my attention even though the first chapter seemed difficult.

I think that not everyone will get past the initial writing style at the beginning of the story, but if you do it's totally worth it because the book is so good.
