This discussion focuses on the insights of the Irish culture. Hillary Broome’s quest to unwrap the secrets from her roots, is a rather bold step for her, and a window for the audience to see. Through this window, we could see the tradition of Irish locals, as well as dangerous secrets from Hillary’s background. I think Hillary will find all the action she bargained for.

What traditions of Irish locals and insights into Irish culture do you wish to discuss? I am curious about what stood out for you.

Books that attempt to tackle the issue of "roots" are always interesting for me, and the fact that these are embedded in Ireland just makes it better for me. Irish tradition and folklore are often tied into mystic themes, and watching those themes come to life is intriguing.

It is usually during specific quests that lots of secrets and traditions previously unknown drift to the surface.

I actually hope one day to finally make it to Ireland and uncover my own secrets. Hopefully they won't be that bad or dangerous, but I would like to do something similar to Hillary and uncover my roots.

I find it interesting that stories of uncovering roots tend to connect with me because I actually differ greatly from y'all; I don't care much at all about my roots past my grandparents, and only that far because they are actively in my life. At one point, we found out that a certain group of ancestors might have been from a completely different country than we thought and I just felt ambivalent. It makes me wonder what causes that hole for some people and not others.
