Like some other people have mentioned Harry Potter is also really enjoyable no matter how many times I read it.
I've been meaning to read both of these. Thank you for the reminder!

Also, Harry Potter is the best! :D

You’re in for a real treat, I hope you enjoy them.

I really like The Kingkiller Chronicles as a fantasy series. That is probably my favorite. I love the complex world Patrick Rothfuss makes in his books. It's like a whole new planet almost.

The Kingkiller Chronicles is one that I've been meaning to read, too. Glad that you enjoyed it, and I hope to explore this fantasy world in the near future!

I would say the series is on par with Tolkien's world. The attention to detail is wonderful, and the characters are very rich. I couldn't put it down, like I couldn't put down Harry Potter either. :) But unfortunately we are still waiting on the third book. So bear that in mind if you don't like to wait.

Many years ago I tried to make my top 10 of science fiction novels, but it changes over time. With no particular order, right now I name:

Dune by Frank Herbert
Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke
The Dispossessed by Ursula Le Guin
The Moon is A Hash Mistress by Robert A. Heinlein
Ubik by Philip K. Dick
The Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmons
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
The Gods Themselves by Isaac Asimov
The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester
Existence by David Brin
Ciao :)

My absolute favorite is the mortal instruments, the internal devices and basically anything else from Cassandra Clare

Fantasy:
The Neverending Story
Memory of Water
The Weaver

October Daye series
Wayward Children series
The Winternight Trilogy
Alex Craft series

Honorable mention goes to The Chess Garden. Definitely one of my all time favorite books, but it can't really be categorized as fantasy. Same feel though.

Science Fiction:
Sphere
Jurassic Park
Timeline
When Harley was One

Newsflesh Trilogy (technically horror, but with heavy sci-fi aspects.)*

These are just off the top of my head.

*Ironically, the Newsflesh world, while about a virus which causes zombies, is highly relevant to current events.
There is still government. America is still recognizable. Just with the threat of a zombie virus.
The population is in long-term social distancing, with PTSD associated with crowds, and mandatory testing at various checkpoints when in public spaces.
Pronouns: She/Her

What is grief, if not love persevering?

Grief is just love with no place to go.

I go science fiction all the way because of the mere possibility that what I read now could one day become real is just  :) , but to have a favorite...I don't know, maybe the Foundation series by Issac Asimov because I like the author :D and because of the great world building.
