Thank you for the reminder!Alyssa wrote: ↑09 Mar 2020, 18:54 Hush Hush and Fallen are the two series that got me into fantasy books, Fallen is probably my favourite because I love the complex characters and how it’s a whole different world right under your nose.
Like some other people have mentioned Harry Potter is also really enjoyable no matter how many times I read it.
Also, Harry Potter is the best!
You’re in for a real treat, I hope you enjoy them.

The Kingkiller Chronicles is one that I've been meaning to read, too. Glad that you enjoyed it, and I hope to explore this fantasy world in the near future!DragonLight877 wrote: ↑16 Mar 2020, 12:15 I really like The Kingkiller Chronicles as a fantasy series. That is probably my favorite. I love the complex world Patrick Rothfuss makes in his books. It's like a whole new planet almost.

I would say the series is on par with Tolkien's world. The attention to detail is wonderful, and the characters are very rich. I couldn't put it down, like I couldn't put down Harry Potter either. But unfortunately we are still waiting on the third book. So bear that in mind if you don't like to wait.hsimone wrote: ↑17 Mar 2020, 10:47The Kingkiller Chronicles is one that I've been meaning to read, too. The Neverending Story
Memory of Water
The Weaver
October Daye series
Wayward Children series
The Winternight Trilogy
Alex Craft series
Honorable mention goes to The Chess Garden. Definitely one of my all time favorite books, but it can't really be categorized as fantasy. Same feel though.
Science Fiction:
Sphere
Jurassic Park
Timeline
When Harley was One
Newsflesh Trilogy (technically horror, but with heavy sci-fi aspects.)*
These are just off the top of my head.
*Ironically, the Newsflesh world, while about a virus which causes zombies, is highly relevant to current events.
There is still government. America is still recognizable. Just with the threat of a zombie virus.
The population is in long-term social distancing, with PTSD associated with crowds, and mandatory testing at various checkpoints when in public spaces.
What is grief, if not love persevering?
Grief is just love with no place to go.
