A bit of both actually, although Reinfield was a decent guy but he never outwardly supported Tau and the others. That seems like karma for him. It was a romantic tragedy from Amy’s side because she could never tell him about their child, which is kind of sad.

I believe it is both a romantic tragedy and karma. I quite like Andrew and am sad by his death, but at the same time it was kind of well deserved for all the inhumane acts that took place in the lab..

its sad Renfield didn't get to know he had a child before dying. this is more of a romantic tragedy for Renfield.

From what i have read, Andrew Reinfield still had some good in him despite the atrocities being committed at GenTech. He definitely deserved to know he was going to be a father may be it would have stopped him from going after what killed him.

It was a tragedy that Andrew never knew about his child. Amy would have to live with the guilt of never informing him about the pregnancy. It was curious that the author would introduce the theme of new (human) life while at the same time GenTech was creating projects - many of which failed or had to be destroyed. This was an interesting contrast. I wonder, too, if we will hear any more about Amy and Andrew's baby??

I believe it is a romantic tragedy and karma at the same time. Andrew Reinfield was a very nice person and I guess he deserved to know. On the other hand, he was part of a dangerous corporation that took human life and he also had something important taken away.

I can't just agree less that it's surely a romantic tragedy.

Protagonists followed their hearts regarding who to spend the rest of their lives with. So for me i think it was a case of romantic tragedy.

Ferdinand_otieno wrote: 01 Apr 2020, 01:37 In the story we learn that Amy Saunders is pregnant with Andrew Renfield's child. She had yet to tell him this before he met his death under Project Epsilon's hands.
Do you think that Renfield's death before learning about his child was a case of romantic tragedy from Amy procrastinating or a case of Karma from the inhumane acts they allowed and followed in GenTech?
I feel like romantic tragedy is more fitting to the text.

I agree with the fact that he deserved to know.

I think it does sound like a very tragic end. Not knowing about a baby would be very heart breaking.

In all successful novels, introducing twists in the tale, particularly romantic and involvement twists for the characters, particularly the main protagonists, always adds a compelling element to the plot. This works well to keep the readers interest in continuing to read the tale. In this case I think it also helped to add an element of the human side to this world.

Whatever the case, I like to think Andrew was struck by Karma. He seemed like a decent person, yet allowed the inhumane treatment of the cloned. He brought this fate upon himself. He was set on a downward spiral from the very start which you know wasn't going to end well.

Romantic tragedy definitely. Cause I believe Reinfield was essentially a nice guy. He went to great lengths to find out the truth although he didn't need to. He had a conscience.

Tragedy. Renfield did try to do the right thing at the end.
