My thoughts on the ending was that it was a deserved justice though mixed with mercy.

I feel the ending wasn't satisfactory enough as it didn't give enough justice simply killing those people was sort of letting them get off the hook as it wasn't comaparable to what Tau went through.

The story line was intense and I loved the way it ended cos I couldn't imagine going on and on with such enveloping tension.

Did you find the ending to have served the same morbid justice?
What are your thoughts on the ending?
According to me, I guess, the justice was well served but there are going to be much more evil in future sequels than this book. Sparing of the scientist felt like a cliffhanger and I hope it has something to do with the next book

I love when author's leave the door open for a sequel, especially if it was a morbid ending. :P

I agree. Simply killing the bad guy is (in my opinion) setting them free. I'd rather watch them get justice through watching their torturers struggle and pay for what they did.

On a related note, so strong is my inherent need to believe in a just world, I seem to have an inbuilt tendency to perceive the vulnerable and suffering as to some extent deserving their fate and I like it to see the ending as "KARMA".🌸

I feel like the ending was justified because justice was brought.

It is a good ending that Kalin could kill most of the people who tortured him. But that doesn't change the situation and cannot take back all the pain inflicted in him. The book concludes with a note to the reader that justice is not served completely.

Well, the ending actually doesn't end there. I can see there is more to it coming as a sequel.

The ending wasn't just enough, for Kalin despite him killing people a lot of people inflicted pain to him. Kalin had lost himself forever.

While I agree that the scientists and handlers that were part of the projects torturous training can be considered justice well-served, I have to wonder about the innocent lives that were caught in the crossfire. I wonder if that will come back to haunt either of the projects later on.

I was satisfied (to a decent level) with the ending. I think that the cruel scientist and handlers had justice served against them. However, there must have been some innocent people in the facility who suffered for actions of the handlers/scientists who were involved with the Projects. Also for a top-security facility, I find it unreasonable that Kalin could hack into it.
