Author Topic: The Sequel(s) to Project Tau (Now Available!)
Don't worry. I'm not hijacking the forum I just keep noticing several comments along the lines of, "I hope there's a sequel!" or "Will there be a Book 2?" Since replying to those comments seems a bit like spamming threads, and since I promised to stay out of discussions wherever possible, I just thought this would be a good way to let people know about the sequel and the future of the series as a whole.
First of all, to the people who don't know: yes, there is a sequel to Project Tau It's called Homecoming and it's out now!
To the people who have read the sequel and want to ask me about it (if there are any such people ) or who have questions about the series in general, this is the thread to ask me in (To OBC staff: I hope that's not violating any rules, since the BOTM forum is dedicated to the first in that series If it is, I plead ignorance)
The Series
There are two published books: Project Tau and Homecoming.
Book 1 (Project Tau): Available on Amazon.
Book 2 (Homecoming): Available on Amazon.
The Future Series
There will be at least three more sequels to Project Tau. One of those (Book 3) is about 20% done. More or less. I never know how long my books are going to turn out to be, but I aim for 100K as a fair length.
Book 3 (no title yet 'cause I suck at titles) is really two intertwining stories: one focusing on Tau's experiences, the other on Kata's. I haven't yet decided whether I'm going to alternate chapters or split the book in half so the reader can get each story in one hit. It might end up as a bit of a doorstopper...
Book 4 is planned out (and boy, am I looking forward to writing that one! Heh! ) For people who miss the Tau/Kata dynamic, fear not: it features heavily in this one, maybe even more so than Project Tau (and definitely more than in Homecoming) That said, it also kind of intertwines with another MC's story in the same manner as Book 3.
Book 5 is semi-planned. I have no idea how it's going to be split up in terms of MCs etc, but it will feature some new Projects.
Books 6+: I don't know. I really want to keep writing, and I will as long as I can think of plots, but I only have ideas for five books in the saga at present
The Spin-off Series
I'm not sure when, but Amy Saunders is going to be getting her own spin-off series featuring the spy missions she went on before she was assigned to infiltrate GenTech in Project Tau. Unlike the Projects series, which is really designed to be read in order, every mission is going to be a complete standalone.
There's another spin-off series - possible 4-5 books; I haven't decided yet - which tells the story of some new MCs from Book 4. Books 1-2 have been written already, but need some work before I can even think about publishing them...
There's also a spin-off novel planned featuring the origins of a new character from Homecoming, but that won't be worked on until after Book 4 due to spoilers
I also mention writing progress in my monthly newsletter, along with the occasional sneak peek of future books and series, for anyone who's interested

I look forward to continuing the series and reading about Amy in her own series.

And wow, it's really impressive you can think of enough plots to fill so many books with the same characters! I would struggle with that.
