The thing is that for some people, it is in a crisis that they actually begin to doubt the existence of a god, or the need to question their faith, and sometimes they actually find answers in other places. I maintain my assertion that though it was a beautifully written book, it didn't do much to alter my views on spirituality as a non-christian.
This was also my reaction when I read this book.
It was books that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone.

I totally agree with the author here. A while ago I went through a rough emotional period. I was lucky to have a friend me help me through it and ever since I've been doing my best to assist any of my friends who face hardships the best way I could.

I thoroughly agree with these three stages. But, I also think that every person has their own perspective as to the meaning of each stage.

Challenges are part of what Christian sign in for when they totally denounce their old ways, but the giving and receive grace is what a total pattern of true Christian should.

I totally agree with the author. Most of us forget to return the grace to others after receiving it from God.

I felt really touched by the mention of these 3 phases in the life of a christian. I have faced crisis of my own and received an overwhelming amount of grace that enabled me to overcome it. After that, it has been difficult to watch people in their own crises because i always feel called to share this grace that i received. Living for others is what we were created for.

This is also true. We pass through these faces as Christians and maybe the facing of a crisis we just call a trial, receiving Grace -we may call a miracle and giving Grace to others service.
