What to read for June 2020?

Post by Heidi M Simone »

As we are approaching June, it's time to think about what genre to read for next month! What genre would you prefer to focus on? :techie-studyingbrown:

For the past few months I've read mostly fantasty/sci-fi or historical fiction books. I think it would be great to read one of the classics for June, maybe something I haven't read before. It's always great to mix up genres throughout the year.

I also like changing up the genre I read sometimes, so I agree, a classic might be good for a change. :)

Personally, I am split between a classic and a biography/memoir. I think both would be a lot of fun and give a lot of material to discuss. I am looking forward to seeing what it will be! Do any of you have a specific book that you'd recommend?

On the memoir side of things, I've been meaning to reread Confessions of a Failed Southern Lady by Florence King! It's a pretty short and easy read, but with quite an array of discussion points.

For classics, on the other hand, maybe The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath? That one I've never read, but the idea fascinates me.

I voted for YA, but Classic for me works as well. :)

Those sound really interesting. I looked up both of the books, and they look like fun and interesting reads, respectively, with a lot of good food for thought. Thank you for mentioning them!

I changed my vote to Classic, as right now I am reading one, Three Men in a Boat.
