I did not like how the author described God in this context as being limited by His children's action because that is not true. And to non Christian's who read this book will be confused and believe this book to represent Christian faith, when it is not saddens me. This is why I made sure to mention this is my review as well. God is not limited by our actions, He choses to step back so that we may either go to Him and repent of our sins or to continue living in our sin. We do not limit Him.

I think the author tried to potray his own fatherhood experience in a way that relates to God's fatherhood, whether it's correct or jot we cannot tell

No, I do not think the story about God is related to any context.

Seeing God described as the God the Father in this book was really eye-opening for me and I like this perspective.

'Controversial' is not enough to describe the implications attached to such a statement. A walk with God is a choice.

I am still trying to understand the limits you are talking about.
