Well Eve lost her freewill but what about Adam he did not have to work to earn a living and everything was prepared for him. I feel they both lost something.

I didn't notice any misogyny in this book. With regards to the punishments, I believe they were both punished accordingly as only God deemed fit. None of them actually took responsibility for their actions, Adam blamed Eve while Eve blamed the serpent. I believe that God justly decided each person's punishment.

With God being described as fair, I think the weight of the punishment directly equates the sin and maybe that's why Eve's punishment was harsh. Still, we can't really discourage the idea of misogyny since it was more evident before than now.

I dont the punishment imposed on Eve was brutal because what we have to remember is that Eve was the doorway to sin. She entertained the devil. The punishment was fair on her part. It was she who sinned first.

I think every religion is based on misogyny actually and no fault to them actually it just happens that during the creation of several religions, misogyny was the real deal and women were second class and beneath man and that much is evident in the Bible and in other religious books

Absolutely. I couldn't get past this point. It is quite glaringly obvious.

Yes there is. Even though one might say that Eve's punishment was fair because she was the one who sinned first, for me, there are no differences in the weight of Adam and Eve's sins. Eve was tempted by the snake, and Adam was tempted by Eve. Both of them equally sinned out of their own will, and it seems weird how Eve's punishment is to always be under the leadership of Adam when Adam also sinned out of his own will in the first place.

I won't be so hasty to label it as misogyny, even though I'm a woman myself. It's hard to compare when both their punishments are different. If their punishments are the same and the amount is different, than it'll be safer to say their unequal.

I believe that the punishment was equal to the crime committed. You know, one cannot expect a chicken thief to be given the same punishment with a serial killer. Eve was the one who contravened God's injunction not to speak with the serpent. She then joined the serpent in doubting her Creator and induced Adam to partake of the forbidden fruit. It is safe to say that there would have been no sin on Earth, were it not for her wilful disobedience. So, according to me, she deserved the severity of the punishment that was given.

Even the Bible contains things that will show you that the days it was written were largely misogynistic. I think it does.

Eve was deceived to eat the forbidden fruit by the serpent. Had she not taken the fruit, the curse from God would not have befallen them. As a result, she was given a harder punishment than Adam. In my own opinion, there's no misogyny in the book because it is actually her fault.

I agree with you. Had she not eaten the fruit, things would have been as perfect as they were in the beginning.

Well, I think the author tried not to deviate from the original story. But about whether Eve's punishment is just, is left to God alone.

Well, I think the author tried not to deviate from the original story. But the issue of whether Eve's punishment is just or not is left to God alone. And God is just.
