When the Adam and Eve sinned, things changed. After that we were given the freewill to choose either right or wrong. God sent us the Holy Spirit to guide us, because He knows that the devil tempts us in our everyday life. Yes, we are all born with sin and that's why we get baptised.

It is difficult to say precisely what would have happened if it hadn't happened the way it did.

I don't think we can blame evil entirely on something outside ourselves precisely because we have free will. God intended to give people choice, so we are each personally responsible for our choices. There is temptation everywhere; it is our choice what to do about it.

I like your question. It's sensible. The biblical truth is that our enemy is both external and internal. While the devil can be responsible for our mistakes and failings, we can also contribute to it by ourselves.

We all have free will so we cannot blame others for our own wrongdoings. There areally temptations but the final decision rests on us.

As humans, we do have the choice of how we approach life. We can choose to live out of a place joy, and healing, and wholeness rather than letting the traumas of our pasts define who we are today. Once we are taken out of that place of innocence, like Adam and Eve were, the world bombards us with messages of what is and is not socially acceptable. Unfortunately, with any human, those messages can become so overpowering that they eventually crowd out God's plan for us. Adam and Eve were unable to live out of that place of love again, but that doesn't mean it's not possible.

I totally agree with your point.

It's actually believed that we are born with original sin, which is a second order effect of the sins of Adam Eve. Reading through the book and a Bible, it's evident that the devil didn't do something beyond human capabilities to trick Adam and Eve into disobedience. It could be concluded that even without his intervention, humans will always find their ways to sin.

I'm one of the people who stand against the concept of original sin. According to my understanding, one should be held responsible for committing a sin depending on rationality of an individual. This concept of original sin should not be used to children, they're innocent.

When you read the Bible carefully, you'll realize that God was aware that mankind could fall into the temptation of commiting a sin. This means that, even if the devil couldn't persuade them, they could still disobey God in another way. It was God's plan, and we can't blame the devil.

Just think about sin or wrongdoing in the mind of a child. When you were one and now as you see children as they go about their daily routines. As an adult now what have you done that you consider sinful? Why did you do it? Do you not feel responsible for doing it?

Life can hit you hard but you choose how to respond. Your emotions, can get off chart but you are the one choosing how to answer to that. Evil is always there but you can choose to rise above it or let it consume you.

slj3988 wrote: 03 Jun 2020, 07:29 There is much debate amongst the religious community over the birth of murder as a sin. My question is if the devil hadn't tricked or persuaded mankind to commit such sins, would humanity have gone a different way?

It is argued by some that we are all born with original sin. We are all capable of such monstrosity. Given that we have free will, can we fairly blame evil on an entity outside ourselves?
God granted man free-will even knowing what the result would be. I tend to believe that the end result would be the same if the devil was not the tempter.

It's always our disobedience to something that initiates the worst part of life. The evil acts as a catalyst for our disobedience.

For some reasons, I think that throwing Adam and Eve was just a failed murder attempt. The Garden of Eden is featured as paradise and so perfect that committing murder is unheard of. There's a hated debate between the religious and social worlds whether murder is a grave mistake or not, especially the death penalty administered to some felony acts in some parts of the world.

God did give humans free will but the point is, the first sin by Adam and Eve destroyed that perfect gift of free will. Humans got the knowledge of good and evil. Making a choice is more difficult now and heavily influenced by evil forces. The mere human being is not strong enough. One needs to choose a spiritual reinforcement. Use free will to choose a spiritual reinforcement.
