I think it's religious but I would replace the "fictional" as "logical"

The book is more of a fiction. It cannot be read first before reading the Bible. Only a reader who has read the Bible will be able to see a correlation between the analogies in the Bible and the novel.

I think this book is fictional but that is because I am not a very religious person. I think it all depends on your perception and what you want to get from the story. You can definitly have discussions to bring up the religious connections and related it back to the Bible to build those faith discussions and connections or you can just enjoy it as a fictional story.

Fictional and religious aren't mutually exclusive! I took it as a fictional story rooted in religion, it seems pretty common. Look at all the Tessa Afshar books, to name just one author in the genre.

The book is religious in my opinion but with some fictional tool. It at times seems the book might be better read by the christians than people of other religion. People of different religion might get misconceptions about the bible, I feel.

The book is both religious and fictional. The book has its background in the Bible.

Everyone should regard this as fiction. Some characteristics in this book do not adhere to what was described in the Bible.

I think the book should be classified as a religious-fiction. It is suitable for anyone with or without prior knowledge of the biblical account.

The book is fictional although the foundation is religious because the author has added to an already told story. Therefore, it should be read with caution.

I mostly would be a religious book based on the fact that it was written according to the bible.

I'd say it's both fictional and religious, but the extra fiction was a downplay to the book. Although maybe the author just wanted to spice things up

The book appears to be religious, but it was written from a fictional perspective

M Deedee wrote: 21 Jul 2020, 02:17 Would you say the book is more fictional than religious? Considering the additional stories added, would it prevent reading by children and others who do not know the true stories?
This is a work of fiction. It is not accurate even in the way it portrays God compared to what the Bible says. It would be misleading to use it as a religious text. If you don't know what the Bible says; best to read the Bible first. Children may get the impression that it's the truth when it isn't.

The book certainly is religious, as it discusses events relating to the Bible. But it is also fictional; the events in the book are just based on what happened in the Bible, with the author adding more elements like characterization, etc. I wouldn't recommend this as a reliable book to read for people who are interested to know more about the religion though.
