Lies and secrets were the largest obstacles to the expedition.

I think the largest obstacle to the expedition were the animals who they didn't understand.

I don't think alcohol was their greatest obstacle, lack of harmony and dishonesty amongst them.

I think the largest obstacle to the expedition was the division in the leaders. They started quarrelling and it made them slow in reaching Zona.

The largest obstacles were their egos and alchohol.

I also agree to you that alcohol was the major obstacle to the expedition.

Alcohol was one of the major setbacks in the expedition undeniably. Although I also feel like the undefined sexual relationships among the group contributed to other problems later on in the book.

It think it was alcohol. If there wasn't any alcohol they would have been able to understand themselves and build a strong team. The alcohol was a major distraction.

I think the largest obstacle was the wild animals that had to fight off. They had to survive at every corner of the forest so it was definitely a difficult situation.

The largest obstacle to the expedition was the rebellious usurpation of authority in the camp. I dislike the fact that this occurred and it was the lowest point for me. The disunity among the crew led to the biggest defeat by the Sabertooth Cats. I would not really consider the excessive use of alcohol as responsible for the unavoidable deaths but the evil minded orientation of the dissenting camp led by Ivgor.

The largest obstacle would be their fight for survival. The fact that they had to fend off wolves and try to survive another day is something that kept on getting in their way.

I believe alcohol was a problem, but I feel the biggest issue was they didn't trust each other. If they trusted, alcohol wouldn't have been such a big deal.

For me, they had two obstacles which were the alcohol problem and the lack of communication and trust which was caused by them.
