Its possible for human and animal to have communication, via gesture, body language and short sentences but, for full vocal conversation? I have my doubt.

There is always a great possibility for deep connections between humans and animals, just like Grant did. The author just did a little more with this book.

I don't doubt connections between man and animals. There are documentaries of men who have befriended lions. So it is actually very possible.

I think the human/animal connection portrayed by the author is quite close to reality. Take, for instance, an intelligent dog. It knows what and how its master or trainer carries out his/her daily routine. It knows when to be aggressive and when to calm down. It all depends on the level of connectivity.

Yes, I think that humans can connection with animals. It is said that animals have a sixth sense that's well developed- they know by watching who their enemies are and understand quickly of someone is going to do them harm or be good to them.
People often develop strong connection to their pets- maybe due to the feeling between them, and they understand each other by watching, and through eyes and gestures. I think this can make a deep connection at times
Reading gives us somewhere to go when we have to stay where we are

I have yet to meet even one whisperer. For me, I think it is impossible. i think animals will understand what they are trained to understand over and over again.

But just willy nilly communication between a person and an animal feels fictitious to me.

Initially while reading I could believe the way grant communicated with shadow, but I was disappointed to find out about how humans and animals could legitimately have conversations later in the book. It then made me feel like it was unreal.

I hope so. I believe the basis of any communication with another creature lies not in the language, but the ability for express empathy.

Well, to me that wasn't fiction. After all we do have strong connections with out pets. Although the level of connections varies

Definitely body language. You can tell for instance if a dog is happy when it wags its tail, runs around and jumps up and down when it sees it's owner back home.

Our neighbors' cat takes it one step further, she comes and asks to open the garden door for her when she is on our side of the fence ☺️. Obviously not with words but with meows and going to the door looking back at us to see if we get it.

I believe such a deep and intuitive communication can exist. Although not based on human speech but maybe based on the connection of our body language.

I believe it's possible. Perhaps not all people have that "gift" or such developed sensibility, but I don't think its totally unrealistic.

My cat does the same!
I think human/animal connections can be very deep, they're just usually unexplored.

Rightly said. I think understanding the body language of other forms of living beings is a very interesting subject, and important as well, since it enables us to understand the essential behavioral patterns that unite us all.
