I agree that the author wanted to attract readers who are fond of such content, but the author should also consider that forced and untimely sex content in the story can be a put off for the majority of other readers.

Sexual aspects are not necessary, however readers continually prove that sex sells. Incorporation of sexual aspects deepens and complicates the relationships between characters, thus creating relatability between characters and average human readers.

Sex is not really necessary because without it the book was still going to make a good read. However, I think his inclusion may very well be to denote human nature, and besides what caused it was the hormone-producing plant.

I agree. The purpose may have been to depict the nature of human beings.

I do not think that Grant's sexual encounters were necessary for this story. I think the author included it to make the book appealing to those who love sexually explicit books.

I disagree. Sex is a kind of distraction. Its not requisite.

I think that we sometimes judge authors very harshly for adding sex or erotica to a story. However, sex is a very natural instinct and if we can have descriptions of meals in a story, we can also read about a character having sex. Having said that, I must also admit that in some cases it is overdone or more detailed than is warranted for the particular plot or situation!

Although I am not typically a fan of sexually explicit scenes in most books, to me, it seemed to be elemental to the phenomena happening around the characters. I thought that it worked well in this case.

I finished the book, and I found the sex kind of irritating. It almost seemed like Grant disrespected women. I think this book would have been so much better if he had been exploring his budding relationship with Irena or Lada, but not both. It was a really good book other than that part.

To me, the sex scene were maybe a little too explicit, but still needed to be talked about. It is one aspects of life majority is involved in.

It's not necessary in fiction, maybe it was just the author's writing style. But to me it's not necessary

From a literary perspective, the inclusion of sex in this book brought out the humane nature of Grant. It allowed us to see his holistic development, by proving that he is a man with sexual urges or libido drive, despite all that was going on. Therefore, I believe that the inclusion of sex was relevant.

I believe sex was necessary for this book. One reason was that he was young and very normal like other young people. Sex to him was like a distraction from the problems he was encountering.

Sex is natural and I belive that it just shows that it always makes its way into human life, no matter what the situation is.

I think not. The plot is great in every aspect, and sex was unnecessary. I just think the author wanted to give it some spice.
