Humans and animals can communicate; many people have strong bonds with their pets or animals. However, because of the mystery land of Zona, I understand why animals have the same higher reasoning as humans.

Humans and animals connect. It is very fictional to assume humans and animals can have a conversation.

Human and animals can relate well if they want to. Grant gave Shadow attention and Shadow became attached to him.

Animals and humas have a special connection. I don't think they can communicate verbally.

It is largely science fiction though.

I do believe in the connection between humans and animals. I believe they share a special connection that one shouldn't take for granted.

First of all, this is a fantasy-fiction book so anything goes. In reality, I do not think that level of effective communication between Grant and Shadow exists. It became even more unrealistic when other people could also communicate with other wolves effortlessly, that was hilarious.

This is totally realistic as man and dog have a natural bond and a wolf is among the dog family. I can refer to it as being telepathic communication. it is rare but possible if there is a divine assignment to be achieved by all the parties involves. This was clearly demonstrated in the story.

I believe or do feel that there is a deep connection between animals and humans, so it doesn't matter if this is put in a fantasy manner. I do believe that it happens in real life.

People and animals can understand each other, especially when pets and their owners bond. But in this situation, they took things to an extreme that seems more like a fantasy.
