Lynn Flewelling's Nightrunner series

I absolutely love Alec and Sergil, Lynn Flewelling's Nightrunners and wondered if anyone else on here was reading the series. I love them both and the way their relationship develops across the books.

I just started reading the series, am through with the first book, and am in love with it. It's very refreshing to see that something like this exists. I saw the fourth book in the series in a used book store and was intrigued so I bought it, and am now tracking down the other volumes. That it starts out as such a standard fantasy series, all cloak and daggers, is great, and that it evolves into something so much more complex and emotionally resonating is the main reason I keep reading. Though I can't tell if the author is poking a bit of fun at traditional fantasy (what with the portrayal of the wizards and similar aspects) or if this is more honoring the traditions of the genre. But either way, it's good stuff.
