Cicala - The First Two Thousand Years by Les Farley is a slow-burn, intriguing science fiction Kindle Vella with a unique setting that will leave the reader with many questions.

This is the story of the inhabitants of the planet Cicala, descendants of humans who left Earth for a new planet two thousand years before our tale,

This Vella is a very intriguing well-thought-out study of this planet as its people debate on whether to preserve the nature of the planet or to push forward with technology! Les Farley does a fantastic job fleshing out the world and keeping the reader engaged with each episode and excited to find out what happens next, especially after the Olympics take place!

On the negative side, the broad scope of the story may be a little off-putting to some readers, as there is not any protagonist in the story; there are a few named characters, but none of them get fleshed out stick around long enough for to be able to relate to or get to know them.

This Vella could use another run-through by an editor as I did notice a decent amount of grammatical and punctuation errors, but nothing that took me out of the story.

I give Cicala - The First Two Thousand Years by Les Farley three out of five stars. This a an intriguing slow-burn sci-fi Vella with a lot of interesting ideas, but the lack of any characters keeps this reader from truly getting attached to the story.

I would recommend this to anyone who likes slower sci-fi with themes of nature versus technology. I would not recommend this to someone looking for a fast-paced or character-driven read.

My review of "Cicala - The First Two Thousand Years" by Les Farley provides valuable insights into the book's strengths and weaknesses. You highlight the intriguing concept of the story, the world-building, and the debate between nature and technology as key strengths. Additionally, you note the broad scope of the narrative and the lack of well-developed characters as potential drawbacks. Your mention of grammatical and punctuation errors, while not too distracting, is also helpful for potential readers.

My final rating of three out of five stars provides a clear assessment of your overall opinion, and your recommendation for readers interested in slower sci-fi with specific themes is informative. Great job!

I hoped in the future, humans would find a way to have technology and nature together but it seems that some problems might continue for a long time. The ideas developed in this Vella can be intriguing, so I hope the author does proper proofreading. Thank you for your honest review!
