Sci-fi and Fantasy

Post by nikkilate1 »

Anyone wonder why this genre has remained so wildly popular, hundreds of years later? There is probably a million reasons why. We may be forever debating. I know I love this genre personally because of the escape. My Goodness the thought of people having huge adventures and living vicariously through them in space and time! Creatures we can never see. Worlds we can only envision. This is why a writers job is so important. We have to live in the world they create for us in the small time we have to enjoy each chapter. No easy task. What do you love best about Sci-fi and Fantasy?

Hey there!
Sci-fi and Fantasy are such amazing genres.
I think I personally love reading (or watching when they become films or tv series) sci-fi's and fantasies because not only do you get to imagine and escape to this place far away from your own life, but because you get to explore an amazing world that someone has already created. I just find it so fasinating to know that someone came up with this whole new world and took the time to write down the details and put it out there for others to adventure into and enjoy.

I love the escape from real life. I've never understood why anyone would want to read about real life when you are living it ALL THE TIME. If I want real life, I can find it just about anywhere. Sci-fi and Fantasy is about entertainment, imaging new realities and cultures and what it would be like to live in THAT life. New creatures, new rules, new everything. What's not to like? I think it's especially good for introverts because we get out so little.

I love the creativity that authors in sci-fi have and their ability to transport you into a world completely of their making that (when we’ll executed) feels just as expansive and intricate as the world we are in! I especially enjoy reading about unique adventures, creatures, species, and cultures. A good sci-fi novel gives you so much to think about and explore that you never thought to before.
