Mermaid novel suggestions

Post by Aspen_Reads »

I am a HUGE fan of mermaid books and I have read quite a few, including the Syrenka series, the Of Poseidon trilogy, Lost Voices, and I was wondering if anyone had any good mermaid books to recommend?
Thanks!

I had no idea that there were mermaid books! What an interesting idea.

I only know of the book Paranormalcy, but it's not ABOUT a mermaid. There is a mermaid in it, however.

Michelle M Pillow - Lords of the abyss trilogy.

Mermaids and Mermen. I really enjoyed them its adult theme so there is a few steamy scenes not for the faint of heart.

Just got more than 200 results when I searched for mermaid books on Goodreads! Whoa! Wonder how many of these I would be into. Love the idea of reading about mermaids now! 8)

Some good mermaid books are:
Forgive My Fins.
Rising.
Tide Knot.
Sea Change.
Forgive my fins is my favorite one.

Pangur Ban by Fay Sampson has a mermaid. She's not the main character but she is important. It's a children's book and very short, but it's good. I think it's for grades 5-8. There's a series but I've only read the first one.

I never considered mermaid books, they were my favorite creature growing up. I can't add to the conversation here, but I will definitely be taking something away from this. :)

In Seanan McGuire's Toby Daye series mermaids are prominent in a few books.

Also, right now, I'm reading The Sea Lady by HG Wells.
70 pages in and I can hardly wait to see what happens...stupid battery :(

Me too. I've actually never heard of a novel or trilogy featuring mermaids. I've read a few short stories though. But never novels. I think I should make it my personal quest to read a mermaid novel this year.

I loved reading mermaid books as a preteen, but hadn’t considered searching for mermaid novels as an adult. This is definitely something I will have to look into! Great recommendations above.
