Underrated Sci-Fi Books?

Post by Edith Piaff »

One of my all-time favorite sci-fi/fantasy books is actually a series of four books called the Saga of Pliocene Exile by Julian May. It was so awesome and amazing, I always assumed it would be a bestseller or cult classic. But for some reason, it never took off, and I rarely, if ever, hear it mentioned. Has anyone else ever read any of the books in this series? Any other overlooked/underrated sci-fi/fantasy books that you really love?

The Saga of Pliocene is a sort of mix of science fiction and fantasy, as they're science fiction told with a fantasy style. You should read the other part of May's big series, the Galactic Milieu series, which is set in the future. I've been thinking of re-reading the whole double-series. Within science fiction's fandom, it should be well known.
Ciao :)
