Centaurius is a fictional planet in the Andromeda Galaxy that mirrors planet Earth in the Milky Way Galaxy. According to the Akashic Records and the ancient prophecy in the Book of Twenty, both planets are in grave danger. The looming decay and destruction threaten both Earth and Centaurius. The story follows Nella, a young protagonist, chosen as the Princess Warrior of Centaurius. Nella is all set to begin her destined role to find and contain the Red Brume and banish or destroy all of the empire's enemies.

She earns the confidence of King Montrobius and the General Council and has the blessings and support of her parents and Grizel. Her protector, Konan, and the Fur and Feather Warriors assure their assistance. Does she have what it takes to succeed? Explore this enthralling journey in Centaurius: The Prophecy, and join Nella and her team as they embark on their mission! Centaurius: The Prophecy is the first book in the Green Galaxy Series.

I particularly liked the initial unfolding of the plot by the author, SJ McGarry. The story is presented like a play on a revolving stage, showcasing seemingly unrelated scenes across different chapters. The author then cleverly deploys futuristic tools throughout the story, transporting readers on journeys through flashbacks and happenings in other parts of the universe and intertwining all the events. 

Nella takes her mission seriously as she embarks on her journey with absolute focus. She thoughtfully and politely requests revaluation and proposes well-considered alternatives, thus displaying an essential leadership quality. The plot highlights the soullessness with which we have overlooked nature's well-being. I commend how the author integrates instances of deterioration on planet Earth and speculates with them to direct young readers deeper into the core message. Nella's character and the premise beautifully nudge young readers to be proactive and take responsibility for their lives. Nella stands out as my favorite character thus far in this series. 

The Kindle Unlimited format I accessed lacks an index page. Some aspects seem superficially touched, which I assume will be explored in the upcoming parts. The pacing is uneven. Also, the lighter moments soften the expected fierceness of this space opera. Nonetheless, these aspects will not deter the target teenage audience, as the tale has the right amount of intrigue and sci-fi elements to keep them engaged and interested. 

Despite minor editing needs that do not call for a reduced rating, the book shines with a strong plot, engaging characters, and a relevant message. Finally, the suspense around Zennibar, the wicked wizard from the Whirlpool Galaxy, and his hired commander and co-conspirator Abigor, the Duke of the Legions of Demons from the Fireworks Galaxy, leaves readers excited for the next installment.

Overall, the narrative promotes a positive change and effectively raises awareness about environmental causes. It urges readers to acknowledge the problems and to ensure measures toward restoring nature to its former glory. The concerns seem too minor to warrant a reduced rating, given the positive aspects and the curiosity it creates for the next book. Hence, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The presence of profanity makes the book unsuitable for readers under thirteen. The book may not appeal as much to all adult readers.

From this review, what intrigues me most about Centaurius: The Prophecy is the way SJ McGarry carries unrelated scenes across chapters, using futuristic tools and flashbacks to keep the story together. I’m curious to see how this technique enhances the plot’s complexity. Nella’s leadership qualities and the book’s environmental undertones also stand out as strong themes I’d love to explore. However, the uneven pacing and lighter tone might affect the intensity I usually look for in a space opera. While I appreciate the unique premise, I’m unsure if it aligns with my current reading interests. I’d likely keep it in mind for later.
