I loved the twins and their intelligence. I have never read a Sci-Fi novel before where a character is reborn after every 100 years with memories of previous birth still intact in their brain and these memories come alive only after the character turns 13.
The story starts with twins dying and their pet dragon following the usual process of reincarnating them. The dragon has to eat the twins so that he can conceive and the twins can be reborn. I couldn’t stop laughing when the dragon cross dresses as a beautiful lady and goes to the king to marry his gay son and clearly tell him that she will use his son’s service for only one time. That was a real lol moment.
The twins get separated due to *spoiler* reasons. Ashley turns into a little wonder that is perfect at math even though reading books and going to school is forbidden for girls. Her wit outwits all her enemies. Ashley’s character is no holier than thou character which convinces the reader in believing that she is an alien and not human.
When Ashley and Alison reunite, there pranks leave the villains in shame. One of those funny pranks was when the twins disguised themselves as an old woman, who was Mayor’s mistress, and cut his suspenders cord and his pants fell off in the middle of his speech. This results in getting them thrown out of the village which marks the start of their journey in Destiny.
Though the story is about the twins and their pet dragon the show stealer is the hologram of Destiny. It’s a beautiful lady who is a programmed robot. Destiny is not programmed to take offence and knows who is the threat and can protect the stargate ship even when her masters are not there to take control.
We see a civilized encounter of the twins and the humans both alien to each other. Soon, the twins realize who is evil and make half of the crew go home with the help of the hologram lady. This then takes us to the Atlantis. This was, in my opinion the best part of the novel. I loved the addition of the pictures which helped me in imagining the story better as I haven't read or seen stargate series before.
The content was full of personal views of author which at points irked me. Some of the content really put me off for example the description of gay and dog humping the man. That totally made me shut my reader for some time. Still I was compelled to read the book further because of the humour and the science knowledge of the author. I learned that the author has just started his adventure in novel writing. This book was not a perfectly written book but was refreshing and an interesting read no doubt.
I rate this book 2 out of 4 stars.
