Chris Colfer (that guy from Glee)

Post by Alexavier-Taiga »

Chris Colfer's third Land of Stories book has recently made it's way onto my 'to read' list. I have read the first two and adore them, even though they are for young adults (10-15 ish) and I usually read more advanced novels, Colfer has a way of captivating his audience. For his two previous Land of Stories books and his second novel struck by lightning I simply couldn't put the books down. And I don't mean that figuratively, I read all three books in one sitting. I didn't eat or sleep for the 23 hours it took me to read his first three novels simply because they are SO good! I recommend them to anyone of any age.

Stuck by Lightning is more for young adults and older teens, as some of the themes are a bit advanced. It was the first, and only, book I have ever cried while reading, and a quote from the book is going to be my first tattoo. That's how much this book affected me. It is a really touching story about a 17 year old who lives in a crummy town, and just doesn't fit in anywhere and just wants to escape. But my the end of the book he is finally happy and is able to fly and be free.

The Land of Stories follows two twins as they enter the Land of Stories, where the fairy tails they grew up reading come to life. The twins learn a lot about themselves and their family, as well as learning more about the characters they loved than they ever thought possible. It is a hear warming story about truth, family, and friendship.
So many books to read, so little time..
