Book Review: The Death Cure by James Dashner

Post by lennon_fontaine14 »

ONE WORD for this amazing trilogy: NOTHING.

Words can’t express or it wouldn’t be enough to tell how much great The Maze Runner Trilogy is. James Dashner, after reading this series, is one of my all-time favorite authors now. Words are still rumbling in my mind because I can’t exactly put into words how to praise Dashner’s work! I like to hug him personally as much as I want to hug and cry if ever I get to see J.K Rowling, Marie Lu, Kasie West, Stephanie Perkins, and Kelly Oram. James Dashner deserves an infinite thumbs-up for making a unique and exquisite way of establishing a Dystopian book.

Well, I have to thank James Dashner for giving me a break from too much twists. Too. Much. But then I must admit that as much as I loathe reading too much twists, I thought that The Death Cure would be such a blast that my heart and mind would do nothing but to bleed because of many revelations. It was the end of the trilogy and the first chapters were not that good especially the part where in Thomas was caught by some Red Guard- we all do know that Thomas is way too intellectual to do petty things for the sake of curiosity.

BUT, all through out the novel was full of actions and emotions. And I find it really awesome that James Dashner left us readers intrigued and mystified about where in the world Thomas and his company had gone and where’s Chancellor Paige? And what’s with all the memorandum? I like it also that Dashner really focused on the goal of the book rather than making some lovey-dovey scene between Thomas and Brenda or Thomas and Teresa. Well, it seems realistic that in a crumbling world we should focus on surviving and not effingly choosing who’s the right one to love. It’ll just come in the right time.
