Book Review: More Than Jamie Baker by Kelly Oram

Post by lennon_fontaine14 »

“Hello, my name is Jamie Baker—and I am not a superhero.

I repeat: I am not a superhero.”

Since I’ve already read a lot of reviews and spoilers about this book (‘cos I’m very agitated to read this fantastic sequel), I immediately went to the marry-me page. HAHAHA. And I felt myself smiling like I was the one getting married.

So, now that Jamie Baker is starting her year as a freshman college student, she thought that everything would be fine as long as she keep herself from exposing her powers. Like, she has Becky as her bestfriend and Ryan as her super boyfriend sealed with a super kiss, what’s to wish for, right? She also thought that somehow Visticorp would stop looking for her where abouts after Mr. Edwards was sent to jail for his attempts on getting to know about Jamie’s power by hurting MY (Mine. HA-HA-HA) Ryan.

But, that’s just her thoughts. And that thoughts were obviously wrong. With Ryan, pursuing her to be the good hero and all (and being so persistent about wearing Wonderwoman’s costume someday), and an accident that will trigger her conscience to be a hero for others- Jamie Baker’s life starts to spark AGAIN. And this time, with utmost danger she never expected.

Now, I’m here to provide all the Vitamins and sparks I’ve gained from reading and drooling over More Than Jamie Baker!

VIT. A: VILLAIN ALERT!
“Funny enough to steal you from your too nice, too good-looking, too perfect boyfriend?”
“Mr. all-American?” Teddy shook his head. “Won’t last.”

Visticorp is of course, one of the most pesky villains you would never want to have in your life. And to sum it up, another pesky dude comes into the scene- Teodoro SPOILER ALERT!.Teodoro is really getting into every parts of my body! I knew from the very beginning that he’s from Visticorp. But, reading it with my own eyes says that this is a nice plot twist. He’s way mad than Donovan. Well, it is still a vitamin ‘cos they add to the thrill of this book. Thrilling to the point that I want to strangle him with my own hands. So effin’ obssessed dude.

VIT. B: RyanXJamie FEVER
“It’s my dream, Baker. I’ll dress you however I want.” His smile turned wicked. “Or maybe I won’t dress you at all.”
“I know, because he makes me feel whole. He makes me feel like I can do anything. I know, because I love him. More than I’ve ever loved anyone or anything ever in my entire life.”

I think I’ll never have enough of RyanXJamie- forever. Jamie is no Ice Queen when it comes to Ryan and his ryan-ish grin and ryan-ish EVERYTHING. Jamie is Jamie. It’s awesome how good people can change you into a better person and makes you live your life with a lot of protons- positive energy! I admire all the male fictional characters that I’ve met in my dreams (Hahaha) but, with Ryan, I’m willing to trade all those fictional characters I’ve read and drooled over (except for Harry. HARRY, guys). He’s so sweet that he complimented Jamie’s adamant attitude. Do we still have someone like Ryan nowadays?

VIT. C: Nerve-wracking TWISTS!
Antonio’s answering smile was a little sad. “Let’s hope so,” he whispered quietly, and then he kissed me.

I love to spoil everyone and how they want to strangle me if ever they saw me wandering around the streets just because I spoil everything about a book. But, I’m leaving it all to you guys, right now. Go grab More Than Jamie Baker and electrocute everything once you are done reading it (except for the book. They are precious little babies!)

I hate to say this but, I’m a bit bored with the other parts of the book because it seems that the phasing is too slow. But, I am way too happy that there is a sequel to Being Jamie Baker! I so love her! It’s my first time to read this kind of genre and I instantly fell in love with all the characters!

Hoping you’ll going to add this on your to-read and to-love list! xoxo
