Review: Undertakers - The Last Siege of Haven

Post by naturalbri »

This was an excellent book. I haven’t had the opportunity to read the first three books in the series, so this as my introduction to the writing of Ty Drago.

As a whole, I found the book exciting, enjoyable and really hard to put down.

The characters in the book, especially Will and Robert, have been written very well. Each has their own personality and characteristics to add to the mix. This means that each character has a purpose and that the interactions between them is very real, especially when they don’t agree! I loved Robert, I know her is of the dead persuasion, but I found him interesting and really fun to get to know. He was different, and really gave the zombies a new side to get close to.

The pace of the story was perfect. We still had time to get close to the characters and really feel a part of the story, but we also had chapters bursting with action, so much so that I became utterly hooked and could not bring myself to put it down. I must admit, I read through this book faster than I willing to tell you.

I liked where the story was heading. I, for one, cannot wait to read the fifth, and final, book in the series, but I believe I am going to have to go back and read the first three. I NEED to know how they got where they were. I need to get to know Will and his mates from the very beginning of their journey.

Overall, this is a really good read. It’s one that you’d go into to your child’s room, at night, and find them secretly reading under the covers, by torchlight. I highly recommend this read.
