Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers (His Fair Assassin Series # 1)

Post by KitKat_Reader »

Ismea is a seventeen year old girl whose mother tried to kill her in the womb, but it didn't work she is now believed to have been sired by death itself. After escaping her village she finds herself in a place where many young women run to so that they may learn how to be assassins where they also don't trust men. Ismea is assigned with a very important task, but along the way she meets Gavriel who will do anything to stop her.

This is a book that immediately caught my interest as soon as I read the description and it did not disappoint. Having a group of female assassins who are all believed to be sired by death itself is an intriguing take on what exactly brings them all together. While the book has a very serious plot, there are plenty of humorous moments are a little on the awkward side, but you can't help laughing at the situation regardless. While there are a lot of main characters to keep track of, each one of them is interesting and have deeper reasons for behaving the way they do even changing their behavior based on who they are interacting with and who is watching. This is a book I would recommend for more mature readers as there are some more adult themes in it.
