Sown with Madness by Ravyn E. A Most is a mystical yet modern tale about the search of magical orbs. This fictional tale is told from the perspective of multiple characters allowing you the special opportunity to see the situations from different points of view. This opens the door for you to gather your own assumptions of what is right, wrong, or reasonable. Though subtle at first, this book addresses the conflict of emotions versus duty, which is something all readers can relate to.

In this story, one can see that the faemons, Valentine and Oliver, are two of the most influential characters. These two and the humans that they are bonded to, Logan and Jalena, spend the majority of the book looking for the missing mystical orbs that possess much power. While doing that, they also are fighting against evil demons and entities that are entering the earth's realm at an unknown location. Even though Valentine and Oliver seem to be the stars of the show, there is an abundance of other characters that are reported on that tie into the overall story line. This clever way of writing helps the reader get a well rounded perspective of the entire plot and allows for individual perceptions and interpretations of the story.

My initial reaction to the book was confusion. The writing style of the author made the story hard to follow at some points. There was a lot of tense shifting within the book so sometimes you have to reread passages to get a clear understanding of what is going on. As you read, you get accustomed to the style of writing and it becomes easier to understand, but that is only if your not to flustered by the time the story line picks up momentum. Towards the middle of the book you really get a feel of what the author was going for. You get to see how everyone ties in together and the book becomes more intriguing.

As I stated before, the book tells the story from multiple perspectives, however, every perspective is not expressed in the 1st person narrative. In this book, the person of interest's name is stated before the passage so that you may know who is talking or being talked about. I wish that the author would have allowed all of the characters to present their thoughts in the 1st person narrative because I would have liked to have experienced everyone's personal thoughts on the situation, and not just the ones the author decided to let us have. I do on the other hand believe that because of this, you form a closer connection with the characters that are expressed in the 1st person narrative which may have been Most's intent all along. With that being said, I feel that some passages did not need a heading due to the character not speaking directly to the reader.

I give Sown with Madness 2 out of 4 stars. The book has a nice story line and good potential but couldn't receive 3 stars due to the delivery taking away from the impact of the book. However, through the entire story you never know what direction things are going and it does keep the plot somewhat exciting. The depth and the seriousness of the story does not become clear until the end when everything ties together, however getting this far after being tossed back and forth mentally can be a tad bit frustrating. I would suggest this book to anyone that likes the world of the supernatural and mystical. It does have some more adult situations so I wouldn't suggest it for the faint of heart, nevertheless, if creative, unpredictable plots are your forte this book is worth a try.

I really enjoy when authors write from multiple character view points. It really allows for character development and helps the reader to attach themselves into the story. From your review, this book sounds interesting. I love reading about the supernatural though, so maybe I'm a little biased.
