I have grown more interested in Norse mythology, but mostly because of the well-known people during that time, such as Thor, Loki, and the like. I don't have much expertise in the area, so I'm curious as to how much the story sticks with the mythology, even without containing the well-known names. It sort of makes me think to stories like Percy Jackson, which focuses on Greek mythology, or Mortal Instruments, which puts a spin on biblical history.

Good job on your review. I always enjoy seeing other people's approaches to writing reviews.

I love the way you write reviews - makes everything so mysterious and interesting! It's appealing that this novel is a collaboration between siblings and manages to stay consistent. This is yet another title I'll have to keep in mind. Thanks for introducing it!

Sounds like a refreshing take on the Norse myths. Great review!

Great review! It reminds me of Percy Jackson a little :) I would love to read the author's description of Asgard. I hope I get the chance to read it.

Great review. I think you summed it up well with your last line. The review reads as if everything is one giant quest (which is not normally my cup of tea) and the overdramatic elements are something I would avoid. Your description throughout the review backs up your final statement that the book is geared towards younger readers who enjoy fantasy.

There was only one thing I thought I should query:
'an average female warrior trying to prove herself equal to other male warriors. '
What exactly is 'the average female warrior' trying to prove herself an equal to men? Is there a stereotype for this? I haven't come across one.
