Salvation's Dawn by Joseph Jackson is the first book in the Eve of Redemption series. It is of the fantasy genre and has one more book in the series that is currently published. This book follows six half demons and one terra-dracon's mission to investigate Tsalbrin.
Karian Vanador is a terra-dracon and a resurrected demon hunter under the order of Zalkar, her god. She is assigned to a mission that brings her to Tsalbrin, directly after the war with the Devil Queen. She is one of the highest ranking demon hunters left and is assigned to the mission alongside fellow demon hunter and half demon Erijindor Tesconis and his siblings. The mission is to stop Braxus Gaswell and to investigate demonic activities which may be related to him. Along the way Karian is forced to face her foggy past and her most pressing question. "Why was I resurrected?"
Joseph Jackson does a amazing job of making this new world of demons, dragons, elves, and rirs come to life. There are many different rirs and demons. There is a full description of each one in the glossary included in the back. There is also many gods each with their own followers. For example, Zalkar the unyielding, "Avatar of Vengeance" is the deity of the demon hunters. There is a common language that almost all the demons and rir speak.
The characters all have quite mysterious backgrounds, not really revealing much about their past. Kari's is slowly uncovered over the course of the book and with the next book in the series out. I am sure it will explain the rest of the character's backgrounds as well. The characters, though most of them are half Demons are very life like and different from what you would expect. This would be weird except that Kari also comments on it and gives a suitable reason for it being so.
The whole story introduces a brand new world with many different species. This is a fantasy but I believe people who enjoy Romance and adventure would like it as well. A complaint I have with this book is that there is a bit too much Romance for my liking and the first half there is almost no action and is quite slow paced. However this merely my personal interest, and after the first half the action picks up quite a bit. Not to mention it is well written, something that is quite hard to do.
I rate this novel 3 out of 4 stars. However, this is largely because I just don't like Romance and am a very impatient person. If you are not both of those things I highly recommend you read it. It follows life like characters, they aren't all knowing or all powerful. They have doubts just like we do and are relatable to everyone. This is not a book to miss, however because of some nudity I would recommend that only people 15 and older to read it

Stop waiting for Prince Charming. Get out and find him. The poor idiot may be stuck in a tree or something.
