The book Eden Bound by Kyrah Winters is a work of Science Fiction/Fantasy . Which as you may have inferred by the name deals with angels. Guy gets an important assignment and meets a girl. Then he meets the girl again, and again. There’s some fighting, the eventual teaming up. A life or death situation. Guy saves girl. Girl saves guy. The hellish visit. The makings of a war. Some romance, a little death, and some travelling. This book has something for everyone. Whether you like intrigue, fantasy, violence or romance, it can all be found within the pages of this one book.

This book briefly touches on religious beliefs; has The Almighty, the ultimate ruler of the heavens abandoned his creations? And if so who is left to uphold his will? It also touches on the principle of fate; some people are drawn together for a purpose no matter how they try to circumvent it. There is also the forbidden love; will love conquer it all? Depending on how much of a fantasy buff you are, you may even question if there are angels walking among us. And if there are angels here on earth, what else may be lurking within plain sight.

This book made me commiserate with the heroine, quite a few times I found myself sighing and thinking “men!”. As with real life, there were characters that I found exasperating, and if I could magically become one with the storyline, I’m confident I would’ve knocked some sense into one or two of them. There were also times when I felt sad. I’m not ashamed to say that I was close to tears a few times.

Another thing I liked about this book was I didn’t find it predictable. Often times you read a book and from chapter you pretty much figure out who the antagonist is and how the story will end. This is not that kind of book. I kept being surprised until the very end. When I got to the last word I kept scrolling for another chapter because I did not see that ending coming.

4 out of 4 stars - The author used his words to propel the reader into each scene. The scenes and the emotion behind each was vividly brought to life. The strength of a good book comes when the reader is able to immerse completely into the book. Based on the ending I am anxiously awaiting the second installment of this storyline. Simply put, it was just too good to end there.
