Today is the day everything will change for Mila. As demanded by Dictator King, all citizens will submit to a finger prick for blood testing. Just one single finger prick will reveal the secret Mila has kept hidden her entire life. Power – beyond what anyone has ever seen. Seized in the middle of the night by government officials, Mila is subjected to experiments and tests that no living being should endure. Held captive with others like her at the order of the Dictator, the government wants to use her to further the Dictator’s ultimate goal: power. However, there are others that want to see the end to the dictatorship, and they want Mila to help them in their cause. Mila will have to sacrifice things she never imagined in order to save herself and others. Will she be strong enough to become the hero the People need?
Permutation Archives: The Harvest is the first novel in a sci-fi / fantasy series written by Kindra Sowder. Sowder does a wonderful job describing details in such depth that the reader is instantly transported to the world created by the book. The characters are described so clearly that they are easily seen in the mind’s eye. The characters are well developed and it is clear who the main and supporting characters are. The plot moves along at a fast pace, keeping the reader hanging on to every word.
My favorite thing about The Harvest was the fact that the plot never slowed and the extreme growth the main character, Mila, undergoes throughout the book is incredible. She is fast becoming one of my favorite book characters. There are quite a few grammatical errors, misspellings and missing punctuation through the entirety of the book. Even with that, the mistakes are minor and do not take away from the story at all.
I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys the sci-fi / fantasy genre. This book has danger, friendships, heartbreak, loyalty and a budding romance. This book is great for young adults but also for those who just enjoy an original sci-fi / fantasy. Readers will not be disappointed.
I give Permutation Archives: The Harvest a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. I give this rating because even though there were many grammatical errors and misspellings throughout the book, there was nothing in the actual content of this book I did not like. The plot is fast and intriguing - the reader doesn’t even realize they have read the entire book and are left craving more. The characters are relatable and the descriptions will make you feel as if you are right there beside them, experiencing everything along with them; the novel’s overall originality is superbly executed.

Thank you so much for the amazing review. I will go ahead and say you got an unedited ARC of the novel, but I love that you enjoyed it despite that!
