Assassin's Quest

Post by Vermont Reviews »

There are several things that I really enjoy when reading a book. One of the most important is the author's ability to tell a great story. Jon Kiln has this wonderful ability and show his talent in the book The Assassin's Quest. He takes his characters and stretches them in many ways to show their talents and flaws. The main character Rothar has been given a Quest by the King Heldar to find out who is kidnapping the children from the King's City and bring him to justice. The justice of that time was as we all know much different from today. Back then when you committed a crime your penalty was your life. I found the story an excellent read with again the author's ability to captivate from the opening of the story and keep it all the way through by showing his characters prize-winning achievements and flaws. Creativity is another asset the the author Jon Kiln has in his backpack of talents. Finding a story and the ability to weave it so that the travels it take you on causes you to keep pace with the characters and wonder at times where they will go next. Esme the daughter of the blacksmith has been captured (she built a special knife for Rothar.) Rothar comes up with a plan to find and get her back. Not wanting to spoil a really great story that's all I'm going to tell you. For the rest you'll have to read the story for yourself. Oh, ok one more tidbit Rothar's father was King Victar and Rothar had grown up with King Heldar. So they were friends since they were kids. Now if I were you I'd download this story and read it today. It is really that great. Find out what a wonderful storyteller Jon Kiln is. He has become one of my very favorite authors. I love his writing. I look forward to reading all of his books. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. It has all the qualities that I love to find in a great read. Excellence in literature. Well written.
