Review-Star Wars:The Original Trilogy by various authors

Post by Mika_peterson »

These books are based off the original three movies( Ep. IV, V, VI) of the Star Wars franchise. The books accurately portray the stories told by the movies, but with more depth. I personally enjoyed the books more than the movies because you are able to see the characters thoughts and feelings clearly, also I just like to read!:)

I have the Barnes and Noble special anthology of these books so it is good to hear that they are a good read, thank you for your words!

What scenes did you like from the book? How do you think they compare to how they were done in the movies(if you have seen them) ?

I have seen the movies and I love them!:) Some of the action scenes were a little harder to follow than in the movies, but what I really like about the books are that they portray the characters feelings clearer than in the films.

I've only seen two of the Star Wars movies (1 and 4, several years ago) and didn't really like either one of them. I'm going to try again soon, this time watching the original trilogy, but I wonder if I would enjoy the books more? I do enjoy good character development, and from this thread I gather that the characters are written well in these books!

In my opinion, they are! If you enjoy reading more than watching movies I definitely recommend reading the books first, I hope you enjoy them!:)

Interesting. Thanks! I have the movies on hold through inter-library loan, so I don't think I'll have the chance to read the books first, but I'll definitely check them out! I'm also really weird and often prefer watching the movie before reading the book, anyway...
