I agree FNA Write. I loved the first book and I thought it was well written, but it was not as original as many people seem to think. But that's okay. I think that almost every story is at least in part a retelling of other stories, and SC did some very interesting world-building and commentary on our materialistic society. It doesn't diminish books for me to see how they derive from others. I think part of SC's success is that she took ideas from more obscure material. Not many people read short stories these days, and not many Americans (a sad truth) are familiar with "foreign" films and novels, so it seems like a very fresh idea to those who are unfamiliar with the dystopian genre.

I loved most of The Hunger Games. I loved the whole series up in till the very end. I don't want to give any spoilers, so I wont go in to detail. I just don't get why it ended like that. It killed the whole series for me, but I did enjoy it up to that point.

I loved the Hunger Games series. I did not read the book until after the first movie was already released, but I can not remember which one I was exposed to first. I really loved the concept of the Hunger Games, and how it was based in what use to be America for a setting. I love the characters and the fact that it is a little shocking to some readers. This makes for a good hook, line and sinker book. The proof of this is in how popular the series is. I loved all the books, but it is hard to determine my favorite. I would have to say that maybe the second book was my favorite because Katniss starts to realize that she does have feelings for Peeta and that she must fight for their freedom :D . That being said, I also really liked the third book. It was slower in the beginning but I like the realism of the fates of the characters, even though I was upset that some of my favorite characters were killed off, it is war in the book and losses are to be expected  . I was extremely happy with the second movie because it was so close to the book. I am so excited for the next one coming up this November.

It's said that most stories come from real life or an incident which has been expanded on. The possibility of a future where this might be possible scares me. I have enjoyed all I have read so far!

The first too books were great. But if you do your research then you would know that Suzanne Collins was rushed into completing the third book by her publisher due to the demand for it. So with that in mind I believe it was well written for the shortened time she had for it.

These are some of the most enthralling books I have read. I ripped through all three of them in less than a week. They keep you interested and have anticipating the next page before you've even started the first one. My personal favorite is Catching Fire because it has the most action and best plot in my opinion. I can't wait to re read them over and over again.

It took me awhile to read Hunger Games. I just didn't think it sounded interesting. Oh how wrong was I. I loved it. Up all night kind of love. I rushed and bought Carching Fire the next day. I had to wait on the third to be dressed. It was good, but Catching Fire was my favorite. I was colouring down to watch the movies. Of course the book is always better, but i enjoyed them. I enjoyed Catching Fire the most because the relationships are more developed and we are introduced to more characters that are involved in the story. The dome is better than the first.

I love this series, though I was not happy with the end of Mockingjay. I also really enjoyed the movies.

I loved all three of these books, I literally finished all three books within a week because I couldn't put them down. I didn't find that the third book dragged at all, at least not for me. I loved the whole flow of all three books and the characters.

My favorite book of the series is Catching Fire because it had more character development and in my opinion Katniss had to make some harder choices.

The first book was a great lead in to the series and completely set the tone. The second book really showed you what was going on, that there was more to it all than the games themselves. The third book was pure chaos and what got to me was the whole Peeta thing. Honestly, I just didn't care for his character by then. However, I enjoyed the end. It really showed how raw Katniss' character was by then.

I am reading the third book now Mockingjay, and though it is an amazing story so far (just got to part 3 the assasins) I wish there was more of a story line like catching fire or hunger games the arena is an amazing part of the story. I also am looking for people just to talk about the book with obviously with no spoilers lol

I must agree with those that say the third book was my least favorite. However, I think the first book was my favorite. I read it twice before going on to the second book. I think I liked reading it the most because I enjoy reading about the daily life and how the society got to the point it did. It was one of those books that kept me going and I would think about it during the day wondering what was going to happen next. I love when books do that.

When books can do that then you know that the author had an amazing story that left you unable to drop the book though so far it's my least favorite hunger games book I can't put mockingjay down it has a grasp on me to the point it makes my wife mad because I am farther than she is in the book.

I just finished reading Mockingjay (yes a little late) but I found the series interesting loving how they were able to show us what could possibly actually happen to our civilization if things turned wrong. I was in shock and awe in the third book a lot won't give away spoilers to people who haven't finished the book yet. But I'm sure most of you know the spots I'm talking about with peeta and katniss. I also wish there was more books explaining the hunger games with snows granddaughter. It would have been a very interesting read in my eyes.

This was a good series, I do agree that the first and second were the most amazing books, and then when it got to the third I was a little surprised with the turn the last book ended. I really thought that since the first two books were a little more upbeat and a whole lot more action based that the third book didn't really meet the expectation of the first two, but I still thought that it was a good book.

One thing that I really and absolutely didn't like was who Katniss ended up with. I really thought it was going to end up differently, but I guess I can't change what is already written.

Other than that, I really did enjoy the books and I would recommend them, although I would say that I was unsatified with the last book
