The guide of pronunciation at the beginning of the book indeed will come handy. I love the names of the characters. They seem memorable. Sistah and Boy.

Thank you! I was thinking the same thing. This seems like a very out there novel, and not my type.

This science fiction novel is unlike any other book I’ve read. I think readers would learn about Hawaiian culture while being transported into a world of fantasy and adventure! Congrats on BOTD!

Sequels aren't my go-to choice of novels unless it can be read as a stand-alone. I recognize that to fully grasp the essence of Boy and Sistah, one may, more than likely have to read the first novel where these characters are developed. But for those who love these plots then today's BOTD selection will certainly be a thrill.

This is not my kind of book, but the review seems interesting. Based on the rating, I can deduce that it's well-edited and intriguing. The book cover says a whole lot about the story.

I like that the author has been very through by inserting a summary of the previous book and also giving a glossary to help understand and pronounce the words. The book has an interesting plot. Great review and Congratulations on BOTD

This fantasy book sounds amazing. Boy saves Sistah from a prison in a cave, and an orb that is somehow causing the rainbows to cascade into the sky surrounds them and takes them to an enchanted and strange cloud-city. Will they succeed in uniting the islands of Ocean World? Congratulations on BOTD!

An intriguing aspect of this story is the quest for a better life. This is practically their sole aim rather than otherwise. Nice review.

This is really not my genre of choice, and I don't like the idea of having to have a dictionary close by. I think I will skip this one. Thanks for the informative review.

The book's cover makes me think this is a children's book. I'm fascinating with the culture diversity. This sci-fi book based on Hawaiian cosmology surely makes me curious. I think it would bother me too if I need to look up to the glossary very often. A quest for a better life. Are they going to marry each other at the end? Well, let's find out. Great review.

The characters are great. I'm curious to know if Sistah and Boy were able to finish their quest. Some themes in the book are against by belief, so I will pass on this. Great review and Congratulations on BOTD.

The book cover looks appealing. It's commendable that a glossary was provided but I also think it's tiring to look up the meaning of some Hawaiian language from the glossary. It would slow down the reading pace. I would not rule out reading the book as I like the storyline. Congratulations on BOTD.

Children of the Godlight is book 2 of the Boy with a Goldfish series and it is a heroic fantasy by Jerre Tanner. Boy rescues Sistah from a prison in a cave and then an orb spilling rainbows takes them to a magical cloud-city. This city consists of two species, one short and one tall. They arrived without papers so they were sentenced to a week in jail. One of the smaller species helps them escape from jail and
then the taller species listens for directives from the Gods and help Sistah and Boy with their quest to unite all of the islands in the Ocean World and promote better lives for all. They encounter a storm inhabited by monsters that blows them off course to a place unknown to them. Members will need to read the entire book to learn if Boy and Sistah finish their quest. Very good review of a book I will add to my to-read book shelf.

There are only a couple of negative aspects to the book. The author recommends the book to readers with some college background because of the complexity of the words and the use of Hawaiian words. I think it is more important to know the Hawaiian language because, although the words are defined, I found it distracting to look them up at the back of the book. I found some of the narrative confusing because the author moved between the first and third points of view.
