A mix of a war story in a fantasy setting, albeit with a cover that looks medieval. Political revolt and a fear of the army of the dead are but two of the challenges.

This well-written fantasy novel seems like a page turner that includes mystery, fighting for freedom, love, determination, and realistic actions of human nature. Great review!

This book contains quite a number of characters that i am surprised it has a full rating. This book must really have an interesting plot. I am looking forward to reading this book. Congratulations to the author on winning book of the day.

This is not the kind of book I would enjoy, but the review was expertly done, with a synopsis of the storyline and the characters. I read the sample, and the characters of Salil and Ahmid already seemed to be developed well in a short time. The general information about the Kingdom and its people was well described in the review. It's just not for me.
Cudos to the author on BOTD!

The sample is fantastic. More and more like a mini Lord of the Rings. After the sample I can see there are already numerous characters. It's been handled well in the first chapters, introducing a few at a time, building them, and sprinkling in enough backstory to paint a very interesting world. I loved it. Also liked Farres sum up of what he feels about war in general. in particular the war against the elves. War is unjust. For those who don't like war but who have read what Farres has to say about it, they will be ok to read more, despite the title. Will read it sometime. Well earned BOTD. 5 out of 5 from me.

I am not a science-fiction/fantasy fan. I don't have that great an imagination to place the characters in their strange worlds. I do not think gallant soldiers and battles will make me read this story.

The first paragraph of the review seems unrelated to the second paragraph. The first tells about the army of the dead. The second mentions another civil war instigated by the Scandosians. Are the Scandosians elves? See? I'm confused already.

Nice to see a book closer to literature in its writing rather than a purely plot driven narrative. Excited to read on.

An interesting sci-fi about imaginary kingdom and heroes. Honestly, the author's imagination in world-building, the theme of love and freedom, also the unpredictable aspects of human nature mentioned in the review make it sounds like an entertaining book I might enjoy. but I'm not particularly a fan of war stories. Thank you for a nice review.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting fantasy novel following a soldier and his companion that must travel to save a woman and her child while also contending with an army of the dead. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

There sounds like a lot going on in this novel. I like the concept of humans and elves co-existing. You have me intrigued by the 'unpredictable nature of humans' comment. This isn't my preferred genre but I may have to read it now based on your review, thank you.

Sometimes, I wonder how authors come up with imaginative storyline and fictional plots like this. I'm not a fan of war stories but this storyline in this intruiging review got me already. Congratulations on winning BOTD.

This makes me really want to read this book. You can tell you definitely took your time reading this book and put a lot of thought into your review. This is a huge benefit to the author to help them get their art into the world. I really enjoy mid-evil stories but this makes me want to pick the book up now. I definitely will be when I am ready for a new novel.

This was a great review. I thoroughly enjoyed the sample I downloaded. I was hooked from the get go and will definitely be adding to my bookshelf. I want to find out more about the army of the dead. :) :) :)
