What I love about the Harry Potter books is that J.K. Rowling puts so much into them. Nothing is there by coincidence. Everything down to the characters names or addresses has a deeper meaning. She didn't just turn out another book to make more money, she cared about the characters and the lessons they would learn and the trials they would face. She gave us characters to look up to, and for some of us, to grow up with. I still go back and re-read the series, and even knowing what will happen, I feel just as I did before. That's how gifted of a writer J.K. Rowling is. She brought us in with a boy in the cupboard and left us with a man who changed his fate and saved his friends, even the world.

Some people will never understand what Harry Potter means to people, especially for those of us who grew with the books and movies. My friend always says "Harry Potter is a part of who I am", and I totally agree with her. Harry Potter is more than just a book or a movie, it is definitely something that helped shape who I am today and will stay with me forever.

I don't know where to begin. I began reading Harry Potter the year it came out in the U.S. I was 12 years old and I have never stopped reading them. To say that they have become a part of my life would be an understatement. I reread the entire series every year and every time I feel like I am discovering something new and I think that is what makes these books amazing. J.K. Rowling is an amazing author! I don't know how she was able to create this amazing seven book series but I couldn't be happier that she did. I was not into fantasy at all when I began this series, and to be honest I am still not that big of a fantasy fan, but I could never get enough of this series. If you haven't read Harry Potter then you definitely need to give it a try. It is a decision you wont regret!

I used to think it was overrated but I gave in early this year and I love it now. Finished the entire series in 2-3 weeks, although that kind of takes out the suspense in between books. Remus is one of my favourite characters

I loved these book growing up and I found the movies to follow relatively close to the books. My favorite was the last book. This series is still incredibly close to my heart.

Harry Potter was the series that started my reading addiction! I remember my parents waking me up late at night to drive up north to "see a meteor shower", to my delight they drove me to the book store to get a copy of one of the books they pre ordered for me! I was heart broken when it was over.

I'm an avid Harry Potter fan and I feel like this series will never die away or diminish. It's become a classic. People have literally grown up with the books, characters and actors. Plus, I enjoy Rowling's story-telling. Her writing is casual and yet sharp.

The harry potter series was the series that got me into reading. I started reading it when I was 9 but I got freaked out by the 4th book(I know silly) so for the next year I reread the first three books over and over. After that I continued the books and loved every second of that. I feel like it was so well put together and she always knew exactly where the story was going as the hints she drops through all the books tie in well. One of my friends had never seen the movies or read the books and I convinced her to read the books this year. It was so awesome to see her get into the story and discuss like every chapter with me. It has now become her favourite book series :)

Yeah love this whole series. My daughter is working her way through then just now and I'm always sneaking up behind her reading bits or picking it up and reading a bit! as a mum my new favourite bit is Mrs Weasley kicking Bellatrix's ass!

No matter how old I get or how busy I get, I always have to read these books at least once a year or I start to miss them so much! They are my childhood and I will never move on from them. JK Rowling has helped me through so many hard times and helped fill up so many hours of my life.

I am currently reading the Harry Potter books to my 7 and 9 year old boys. Every night we get in my bed and read for 30 minutes. The youngest hangs on every word. The oldest hangs listens for the first 15 minutes and then falls asleep. :) It's tough finding something you and your kids both enjoy reading.

Harry Potter really carried me through adolescents. The movies and the books. They taught me so much and helped me through such awkward phases.
