The Hermit Gryphon by Paula Grover offers a fresh twist on the fantasy genre, focusing on the redemption arc of a villain rather than the usual hero's journey. The detailed character development and vivid illustrations make this a must-read for fans of character-driven fantasy tales.

Love the review! My phase for fantasy fiction is past but I'm interested in reading this one owing to the exceptional story-telling, creativity and uniqueness of the plot. Look forward to reading this book and getting drawn to more titles by the same author.

What's better than a good fantasy novel? I'm definitely curious to see how Tal's story unfolds and if redemption is in the books for her. It seems like Griper and Tal forms quite a friendship being the outcasts and from the villains we might just learn something. Thanks for a great review. Congrats on BOTD.

"The Hermit Gryphon" by Paula Grover is a fantasy novel and sequel that can be read and understood as a standalone.
It tells of Talona's journey of redemption after the atrocities she was said to have committed and her friendship with Gripe, the Gryphon, who was her companion on her journey to Forest Lake Nesting Site in search of Snow Wing for direction in life.
The themes of acceptance, trust, and forgiveness were explored with the narrative and are great lessons for nurturing healthy relationships.

I'm not a huge fan of fantasy novels so I'm going to pass on this read. I do commend the author for having the creativity and vision to bring about these creatures and this world.

Thank you for the glowing review of “The Hermit Gryphon" by Paula Grover. It sounds like this is the second book of a series but could be a stand alone novel with gripping action and likable characters. The main characters are outcasts but we can know their perspective of the story and that is a novel view. The themes include friendship, acceptance as well as persistence.
