Wow, such an array of strange names. Thanks for the insightful review. Too bad the story is so 'male-centric'. Well done to the author for providing appendices which serve as a guide to the names of the gods, goddesses, languages and so on used in the story.

Thanks for the informative and interesting review. I really think that I'm going to enjoy this book. It's a pity that the story is so male character focused, and that the females are lesser characters, but if the story is good I think I can let it slide this time. I will admit I'm sure the names will drive me crazy though. LOL

I tried the sample and found it overwhelming. So many characters to keep track of. I wonder why the first dragon had to start as a lizard then mysteriously grow to 100 feet. Character development?

Although I usually prefer a modern setting for fantasy novels, I think I’ll give this book a try, since you wrote such a positive review. Thank you for pointing out the two issues, but if the writing is as refined and balanced as you said, they shouldn’t be too much of a problem to me. I hope I’ll enjoy the book as much as you did.

I love dragons and usually enjoy tales of adventures. But this sounds like one I might have an issue with if there's not really any developing female characters, and if the names are confusing.

This book itself sounds interesting. However, it’s hard for me to enjoy a book with characters that have difficult names to pronounce.
