It sounds quite intriguing especially the parts about magic and love. I loathe depictions of abuse of any kind but can be a mode to enlighten and provide direction to help others. Thanks for your review.

With some parts of the story taboo and involving hurting kids, I don't see myself reading the book much. But I'm sure some will find its storyline captivating. Nice review.

House of Pain by Denna Holm is a sci-fi novel, and it contains some erotica. I liked the storyline. Congress on botd.

This sci-fi fantasy deals with the human condition, which is quite commendable. It is sad though that the author believes that in 3515 slavery and kidnapping will still exist. Congrats on book of the day.

This definitely sounds like a deep book with a lot of well developed characters and themes. Dark erotica isn't for me but I'm glad you enjoyed it. Great review!

Though I listed it under want to read in my library I would really have to say that this one can really be disturbing alot more than I think the only major reason to it is about the children and whatever they go through.
Thanks for the review

I've never thought about a dark erotica story. A sex slave trying to free herself makes me want to know the kind of experience she encounters. Nice review.

House of Pain by Denna Holm is classified as Sci-Fi/Fantasy, but it reads like a dark erotica novel. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised at the discovery. The story is about Magdalena (Maggie) Shelbador a succubus, and her quest to find true love. She is a slave who dreams of being free of the life she has in the whorehouse in which she grew up. Her story becomes tangled with that of a widower named Daniel and all the troubles he encounters trying to rescue his kidnapped son. The story is set in the year 3515 and is very apocalyptic by all accounts. The story is filled with demons and magic, and people who are trying to survive in a time that seems almost prehistoric.
Definitely appears to be a bit erotic, given that the main character is a succubus. The apocalyptic aspect on top of this certainly sounds interesting. I really can't resist a romance but this seems to be a bit further than I normally venture.

Misery always have company. I'm sure Maggie and the widower will be a perfect match as they both seek to get back something they lost. A really interesting plot indeed.

This book was a bit much for me as far as the darkness of the plot. I should have known by the pentagram featured on the cover. In spite of this, I do appreciate that it was well-edited. Thanks for the detailed review!

I love good character development, but erotica isn’t for me. I’m sensitive about issues like sexual exploitation, especially perpetrated on children. Glad you enjoyed it though! Thanks for an honest review.

This book is not for me, as I don't like romantic or sexual books.
