Initially, I didn’t think I would be interested in reading this book. I was surprised at how quickly this review changed my mind. Although I am much older than Terrence, this review offered me several ways to connect with the story and main character. The Jim Croce reference alone got me excited to read this book.

What more need you ask of a young adult Sci-Fi book? Entertainment and coming of age are rolled into one with the fast growth of the characters as their lives unfold in unexpected ways. We must root for the puzzle loving math nerds!

This is a really humorous story. Terrence Brown, an extremely intelligent, but not very popular, high school junior, has an experience of a bowling ball falling from the sky nearly killing him and causing major damage to the neighborhood. No one is able to explain how this happened, which leads to some ridiculous speculations. Soon after the incident, Terrence receives a mysterious puzzle box that sends him on a quest for answers. I really enjoyed the free sample and look forward to reading more! Good review.
