I'm intrigued by the concept of "Roan" by E. R. Barr, where the protagonist's abilities are tied to the environment. The blend of science fiction and fantasy elements is appealing, and I'm looking forward to exploring the world of Roan in more detail

I’m looking forward to digging into this novel to find out how Connor will be able to surpass all the challenges in a world full of myth, otherworldly powers, and mysterious shapeshifters. Will he be a hero or just a victim?

There is intrigue in exploring the boundaries of our humanity with that layer of mysticisim, isn't there? At least, that is what this review made me think. And yes, how does one indeed prevail over his own evil like Conor? Thank you for the review.

The blending of myth, mysticism, and science fiction elements creates a unique and compelling setting in the town of Tinker's Grove. The author does an excellent job of grounding the fantastical elements in a believable small-town atmosphere.

The protagonist, Conor Archer, is a well-developed and sympathetic character. His personal journey of discovering his origins and developing his powers, all while grappling with grief and a desire to retain his humanity, makes for an engaging character arc.

At first, I thought there might be too many characters and hard to follow, but you mention short chapters, and that's a big plus for me. I like some science-fantasy books, so I think I'll give this one a go based on your recommendation. I also thought this was aimed at a teen audience, but you say it's suitable for all lovers of fantasy and sci-fi.

Conor's ailing mother asks him to return to Tinker's grove and reveals his true nature. Roan are mystical shapeshifters with other powers. Conor's clash with Dr. Drake leads the plot forward and is interesting. I liked reading your review.

Nice review. The way you describe the characters and their development, as well as the setting of Tinker’s Grove, really brings to life the depth and complexity of Barr’s world. It’s clear that the book offers a compelling mix of suspense, mythology, and character-driven storytelling. Congratulations to the author, #BOTD!
