I love the plot. The fantasy fiction full of demons and vangurads. It reminds of some animes. And I presume that the anime adaptation in book with more twists and importance to detail will be very extensive experience.

The story of Spirit and Emily, set against the backdrop of an epic fantasy with unique characters and an unpredictable plot, sounds like a compelling read. The addition of a demon army and a struggle for survival adds layers of excitement.
I believe in something greater than myself.

Spirit found himself having to take care of his sick sister and a chance to be a member of a military group that would pay him enough to look after her is his only chance. Follow him as he gains new magic and embarks on this journey. I love that there’s also humor in this story, so thanks for sharing that in your review!

“Demonslayer” by Ian P. Eviston is the first book in the Vanguard Chronicles. Spirit Clayborn lives in the slums of Crossus but he is bound to be a hero and he fights in the underground cannibal fights to pay for his sister Emilys leukemia treatments. This book is a sci-fi fantasy where Spirit loses his arm in a fight but before he could be killed, he was rescued by a man made of wood. He was rescued with his sister Emily and Spirit is told that his sister Emily can be cured by the Vanguard doctors as long as long as Spirit passes their tests. Xaxus has grown an army of demons, and his goal is to kill all living humans. This is a well-written book with great character development.

Thank you for such an in-depth review! I completely agree with your thoughts on I.P. Eviston's *Demonslayer*. The character development and the immersive world-building make it a standout in the fantasy genre. I'm also looking forward to seeing where the Vanguard Chronicles take us next. Great review!

Demonslayer by Ian P. Eviston
Thank you for a quite detailed review! There's even a few spoilers, but summary of this complex fantasy book is important.

This 1st book from a pentalogy is an exciting young adult fantasy novel that features a tough young hero who must learn to harness his skills and navigate a dangerous magical world. There is solid character development, for more than just the sole protagonist. This makes it smarter than most fantasy books.
This is the book of the month and it sounds like a must read!

I appreciate how the author has crafted this action-packed story in such a creative way, encouraging readers to use their imaginations as they connect with each character. The narrative centers around The Vanguard, an elite group of fighters sent on the most dangerous missions. Each member has unique powers and abilities that make them stand out, reminiscent of characters from Star Wars. I'm eagerly looking forward to reading this novel. Congratulations to the author on BOTD.

Demons and humans co-existing in tentative peace is a strange idea for me, since I always believed that all of us humans have our own demons living within us. In any case, I will have to skip this book because it's not the genre I enjoy. No offence and congrats with BOTD!

This review clearly summaizes the Demonslayer. In this dog-eat- dog world, Hell ascends every day to devour its victims. This is the world that Spirit was thrown into with the arrest and abduction of his parents. In Demonslayer, a cult of cannibals enjoy a gladiatorial game that leaves the vanquished with an agonizing prospect of being dismembered. But fate had a plan for Spirit as he was magically rescued from certain death to fulfil his purpose in life.
