I agree with your rating because I would feel unresolved if many aspects of the plot weren't closed. I think that another round of editing would have fixed the pronoun errors and other grammatical issues that you highlighted. I also agree that this book is more supernatural/horror than fantasy/science fiction. I like the relevancy of the book and how the author tied it to the current politics.

This genre is not my cup of tea. I did read the free sample and thought "typical guy" antics to some of it. I read your review and agree there are errors that distracted me. However, the part I read gave enough beginning characterization that I was satisfied as you voiced how that usually suffers in the shorter works but didn't think that was the case here. While others may like the nicknames, I only use them to differentiate between characters and lose their given names in my reading but they are acceptable.
Thanks for your review.

Thanks for the review. I usually like supernatural / horror type stories and your review has made this book seem like it would be quite interesting. Some Guy - a unique name who has made up a unique set of characters. Seems like fun

The cover of this book is so interesting. As much as I enjoy sci-fi and horror, The torture in the beginning gave an impression of an epic and sad tale. A suspenseful science fiction tale laden with lots of action and horror!

Thanks for your review, I really enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the comraderi amongst the characters. I really don’t enjoy graphics violence though and I don’t think this is a book for me.

I like the cover of the book and the concept, I am not sure this is the right book for me. The author’s name is interesting and definitely catches your attention. This was a very well written review!
Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his deep and continuing needs, is good for him.

The execution of the review is very good. I’m not sure if it’s your intention to combine the confusion, curiosity, mention of characters but choose not to elaborate on your review but it got my interest on the book. A well written review. 8) :tiphat:

I was strapped to one of those torture seats and groped inside that smelly cave with the wreckers. The author is some guy! I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be a woman.

Give me horror any day, MsTri!

The cover reminds me of the Creature in Penny Dreadful. However, did any else notice the spelling error in the title, "Redemtion"? That automatically annoyed me. However, a team fighting the supernatural does capture my attention. I'm glad to see that the author included little personality traits to make it easier to connect.

After reading the review, I'm not really sold that this is a good read. Between the slowing of the plot, the grammatical errors and the fact that there are many stones left un-turned, so to speak, it doesn't really jump out to me as a must read. I do like horror novels, but not sure I will add this to my read list. Thanks for the comprehensive review.

The book has a very unique sounding plot to it. I'm not 100% sure it is for me but I do like the way you described it. The "Some Guy" part made me laugh a bit. The wall being referenced more to the current POTUS makes me want to read it more so that I can see the full take on it with a twist. Thank you for your review!
